Africa-Press – Angola. The consul general of the Republic of Zambia in the provinces of Cuando Cubango, Lunda-Sul and Moxico, Bonifácio Musumali, pointed out Wednesday, in Menongue, the education and health sectors as the main axes of cooperation, aiming for proximity between the two peoples.

Speaking at the courtesy meeting held at the provincial government of Cuando Cubango, Bonifácio Musumali said that, within the framework of the planned cooperation agreements, citizens of the province of Cuando Cubango would begin to receive academic training in the border provinces of northwest and eastern Zambia, being in a first phase with a focus on the English language.

Likewise, the diplomat continued, Zambian citizens would have the possibility of receiving training in the Portuguese language in the province of Cuando Cubango, as a way of improving communication between citizens of the two countries and strengthening cooperation in other areas of activity.

He recalled that in the health sector there are steps taken and that they just need to be improved, since his country has shared experiences with Angola, both in specific training and in the care of patients who come to its hospitals in search of solutions for various diseases. , especially in the Mungo region, bordering the municipality of Rivungo.

“Both governments are committed to the development of their people. The central governments, at presidential level, make their policies, but the others must interact and implement actions within the scope of geographic proximity, with respect to the legal systems and institutions of the two States”, he highlighted.

The diplomat also expressed interest in cooperating in the areas of trade and agriculture, adding that Zambia will have an international exhibition between the 31st of July and the 5th of August, inviting the provincial government and local businesspeople to participate in the event..

As part of his three-day working visit, the diplomat will meet with the commander of the National Police and delegate of the Ministry of the Interior in Cuando Cubango, as well as visit the Prison and Migration and Foreign Services, in the interest of continued dominance and respect to legal dictates.

On the last day of work, a meeting is planned with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cuando Cubango (CCICC) and a guided visit to Companhia Siderúrgica do Cuchi.

For her part, the vice-governor of Cuando Cubango for the political, social and economic sectors, Helena Chimena, praised the intention, having stated that both in terms of staff training and in the health sector, Zambia has done work very humanistic in serving Angolans.

Therefore, he considered the exchange between the two peoples and governments to be an added value, having shown himself open to the idea of ​​learning languages ​​(English and Portuguese).

He reiterated that the province is rich in natural resources, arable land and abundant water, in addition to tourism, which can be taken advantage of by establishing partnerships.
