Africa-Press – Botswana. Few days after five minors had drowned in Mosupe River in Moshupa, another five-year-old child drowned in Extension 11, in Gaborone.
The baby boy was under the guardian of his grandmother when the tragedy occurred. Confirming the tragic incident, Central Police station commander, superintendent Mothusi Phadi said they received the report on Saturday evening with the tragedy alleged to have occurred a day before. “It is alleged that the baby boy had accidentally fell into a swimming pool on Friday and he was rushed to Princess Marina Hospital where he succumbed to death on Saturday late evening,” Phadi said. Phadi called on people with swimming pools to consider covering them with nets or anything that can act as a barrier when not in use to prevent tragedies happening.
