Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana Accountancy College has officially changed its name to the Botswana School of Business Sciences, effective 15th February 2026. The institution announced the rebranding as part of its strategic response to the evolving business environment. According to the acting executive director, Dr Tebogo Magang, the new identity reflects a broader vision to provide relevant and competitive business education. The change signals the institution’s commitment to adapting to market demands and enhancing its role in shaping business leaders across Southern Africa.

Dr Magang highlighted the institution’s regional expansion as part of its transition strategy. Programs will soon be offered in Namibia in partnership with the University of Namibia, creating opportunities for cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange. Significant progress has also been made in Lesotho, where the school is establishing a presence to offer business education programs tailored to local needs. These initiatives aim to strengthen the school’s regional footprint and provide students with access to a wider network of academic and professional opportunities.

The ultimate goal of the transition is to evolve the institution into a fully fledged university. This transformation will expand academic offerings, improve research capabilities, and enhance the institution’s ability to respond to global business trends. Dr Magang emphasized that the rebranding and expansion are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in dynamic business environments. The school intends to maintain high standards of teaching while fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership among its graduates.

By rebranding as the Botswana School of Business Sciences, the institution is positioning itself to meet future challenges in business education. The move demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to curriculum design, international collaboration, and capacity building. It also reflects a commitment to producing graduates capable of contributing to economic growth, regional development, and global competitiveness. Students can expect enhanced learning experiences, broader professional networks, and stronger pathways into the corporate world.

The rebranding marks a significant milestone in the institution’s history and underscores its vision to become a leading business school in Southern Africa. Through expansion, collaboration, and eventual university status, the Botswana School of Business Sciences aims to redefine business education in the region. The institution’s strategic approach ensures that it remains relevant, resilient, and responsive to the changing needs of students, industry, and society.
