Africa-Press – Botswana. Air Botswana strives to take advantages of Botswana’s geographical location in the centre of Southern Africa to position itself as a quality airline.
Speaking during the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the national airline and Access Bank Botswana, Chief Executive Officer of Air Botswana, Ms Lulu Rasebotsa, said the expansion of the airline’s operations to destinations within the SADC region was testament to the airline’s commitment to occupy a significant portion in the market space.
“This expansion is intended to ease flights connectivity between destinations within Southern Africa and beyond, while offering flexibility of choices to customers and offering excellent service,” she said.
Rasebotsa pointed out that Air Botswana’s strategy envisaged continuous transformation and modernisation so as to be optimally positioned in a changing, fast-paced geopolitical environment with significant impact on supply and value chains.
She said the aim was to safeguard Air Botswana’s market position and economic success by developing it into an agile and flexible organisation that is even more competitive.
“The goal is to consistently act upon opportunities arising due to trends and market changes, consequently positioning oneself is key for any upcoming opportunity,” she said.
Air Botswana recently embarked on a re-fleeting exercise with the procurement of four Embraer jets, in an effort to further spread its wings and promote growth through a revitalised strategic approach.
She highlighted that Air Botswana was committed to continuing to provide world-class services to domestic travellers and visitors.
Ms Rasebotsa thus said the partnership between Air Botswana and Access Bank, which aimed at promoting women travels was befitting as it would qualify women to low-interest loans to enable them to travel the world and get relieved from the hustle and bustle of family life and re-energise.
Mr Shepard Aisam, the managing director of Access Bank, expressed delight over the partnership between his bank and Air Botswana stating that he was hopeful for it to enable women to unwind during their travelling experiences.
Mr Aisam explained that Access Bank Botswana would, through the partnership with Air Botswana, provide women with travel loans at low interest rates.
He said women had generally proved to be reliable in repaying their loans compared to men, and therefore, it was easy for the bank to tailor-make a loan scheme in their favour.
