Politics: Held in Kigali, Rwanda, the Commonwealth Heads of State meeting closed on 25 June. Twice postponed due to Covid-19, the summit was an opportunity for Commonwealth member states to reconnect and discuss global challenges affecting the community’s more than 2.5 billion citizens. Among the main announcements, the membership of Gabon and Togo; the selection of Kenya and the Kingdom of Eswatini as the new Commonwealth champions in geothermal energy.
