Dingake Retains BCP Women League Presidency

Africa-Press – Botswana. The incumbent Botswana Congress Party (BCP) Women’s League president, Ms Tshimologo Dingake has won a second term in office with 276 votes against Ms Kelebogile Kebaitse, who garnered 210 votes during the party’s women wing’s elective conference in Lobatse on Sunday.

In the vice president position, Ms Ms Basego Motswakhumo won with 248 votes against Lopang Letebele’s 223 votes. Ms Evelyn Kgodungwe won the chairperson position with 257 votes while her contender, Ms Seitiso Ditlhong got 219 votes.

Ms Kebaneilwe Machaya was elected by 249 votes defeating Ms Morapedi who got 224 votes for the position of secretary general, while Ms Yvonne Letsebe won the position of the treasurer by 275 votes against Ms Cathrine Odirile.

The conference, which was held under the theme: Women Driving Change Defending Democracy, was also graced by the parry’s leadership, among them, vice president, Mr Taolo Lucas, Ramotswa MP, Mr Boniface Mabeo.
