Africa-Press – Botswana. First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) and the Botswana Accountancy College (BAC) have entered into a strategic partnership that champions progress, education, and national development through a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement was formalised at the FNBB headquarters in Gaborone. FNBB Chief Executive Officer, Mr Steven Bogatsu, expressed confidence in the collaboration, citing BAC’s strong track record in academic achievement and its innovative spirit.
“This partnership is an investment not only in academic talent, but in the dreams and potential of our nation’s youth,” said Mr Bogatsu during the ceremony.
He acknowledged Botswana’s progress in building a diverse and resilient economy but stressed the importance of equipping young people with the skills, exposure, and confidence needed to sustain that momentum. He emphasised FNBB’s commitment to creating real-world learning experiences that go beyond the classroom.
“We are building a bridge between education and employment, a smoother path from classroom to career,” he said.
BAC deputy executive director of Academic Services, Dr Tebogo Magang affirmed the institution’s position as a leader in graduate employability, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
“We exist to serve our students, and we are dedicated to equipping them with the skills they need to thrive, through learning from industry experts and receiving top-tier mentorship,” said Dr Magang, describing the MoU as a testament to that mission.
He also praised FNBB’s continued dedication to community upliftment and national development through various sponsorships.
“Not many institutions can do what FNBB has done, and we are thrilled to enter into this partnership,” he said.
As part of the agreement, FNBB will appoint a senior leader to BAC’s Industry Reference Forum. This move is intended to ensure the curriculum remains relevant, practical, and responsive to the evolving demands of the financial sector.
