Africa-Press – Botswana. Local football has been plunged into mourning following the passing of Mochudi Centre Chiefs defender, Donald Rapulane.
A player who was instrumental in Chiefs’ run last season, Rapulane was reportedly stabbed to death in the early hours of today.

Chiefs released a statement in the wake of the sad news.

“Mochudi Centre Chiefs SC is saddened to announce the untimely passing of our beloved player Donald Rapulane,” the club said.

“The no nonsense defender was instrumental in Magosi’s impressive clean sheet record for 2021/22 FDSL season.”

The club said funeral arrangements, including a memorial service, will be communicated in due course.

Meanwhile, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) has ordered that a moment of silence be observed in honour of the departed player.

“Having received the sad news of the unfortunate and ultimately passing away of the talented Donald Rapulane of Mochudi Centre Chiefs, I hereby do instruct and direct that forthwith, all official matches across the country must observe a Moment of Silence in respect and honor of our departed son, Rapulane,” BFA president , Maclean Letshwiti said in a media statement.
