Africa-Press – Botswana. Former Zebras coach, Veselin Jelusic has been appointed Lesotho senior team coach, after reports linking him with a return to Botswana.
The Serbian enjoyed a relatively fruitful period in charge of the Zebras between 2002 and 2006.
The Botswana Football Association (BFA) was reportedly keen to reunite with Jelusic, but Lesotho has moved to offer him the job.
Another former Zebras coach, Peter Butler was listed among coaches interviewed by the Lesotho Football Association.
The BFA this week unveiled Mogomotsi ‘Teenage’ Mpote as the interim Zebras coach.
The Orapa United coach will take charge of the Africa Cup of Nations preliminary round tie against Eritrea next month.
The hiring of a full-time coach has reportedly been hampered by the BFA’s precarious financial position.
