Kindiki Rallies Support for Odinga'S AUC Bid in Botswana

Africa-Press – Botswana. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has taken the campaign for Raila Odinga’s African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship bid to Botswana.

Kindiki presented Kenya’s request for support to President Duma Boko, seeking Botswana’s backing of Odinga’s candidacy for AUC chair.

On behalf of President William Ruto, the Deputy President also held bilateral talks with President Boko in Gaborone, focusing on collaboration in climate change, tourism, trade in coffee and tea, beef farming, horticulture and floriculture, mining, cooperative management, and regional peace and security.

Kenya-Botswana relations

Kenya considers Botswana a longstanding ally in continental economic development, peace, security, tourism, education, health, and renewable energy.

According to the Deputy President’s office, the two nations share a history of cooperation in politics, democracy, development, and trade dating back to their independence struggles.
