Africa-Press – Botswana. The transfer of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona remains at an impasse, but the Polish striker wants to resolve the future as soon as possible, reported this Sunday, the newspaper Record, in the online edition.
On the 12th of July, when Bayern’s players are due to report to the Bavarian club’s training center in Munich, Lewandowski intends to return to the club’s premises just to say goodbye to his teammates and all the staff.
According to the Spanish daily ‘AS’, the Pole urged Barcelona through his agent Pini Zahivi to speed up the transfer, having made it clear that he really wanted to move to Catalonia. Lewandowski’s agent informed Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, the effort that his client has made during this period and that it is now up to the blaugrana to act accordingly. However, the situation on the side of Barcelona does not seem to be favourable: the Catalan club is waiting to close the deals it has in hand, regarding the sale of television rights to La Liga, which could reach 500 million euros.
On the other hand, there is also the pressure made by Xavi Hernández, who will have asked the management of the culés for Lewandowski to join the club as soon as possible. The coach told the club’s sporting director, Mateu Alemany, that he would like to have the Pole from July 11, when the Barcelona internationals who participated in the Nations League will meet with the rest of the squad. Furthermore, from a marketing point of view, it is also considered vital that the Bayern striker is one of the protagonists of the American tour that Barcelona will host on 16 July.
It is clear that the negotiations between the two clubs are about to reach a decisive point, because according to the German ‘Sky Sports’, Bayern Munich will have changed, just over 15 days ago, the player’s status from non-transferable to someone that admit trading for values around 60 million euros.
