Africa-Press – Botswana. President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has appealed to Rammidi family to continue the legacy established by their parents. In a heartfelt condolence message delivered in Kanye on Tuesday, President Masisi honoured the late Ms Rebecca Rammidi, describing her as a woman of high regard who not only raised children of exceptional character but also played a significant role in shaping the lives of many as a dedicated teacher.

The President highlighted the immense contributions of the 81-year-old Ms Rammidi and her late husband in the country’s progress through their teaching careers. He remarked that their impact on the nation’s development, by educating individuals who had become key figures, would be long-lasting.

Mr Kentse Rammidi, one of Ms Rammidi’s children, shared that their mother had been unwell for an extended period leading up to her passing.

Dr Lemogang Kwape, Member of Parliament for Kanye South, said every parent desired to be laid to rest by their children, just as it transpired with the Rammidi parents.

The MP also reiterated the significance of Ms Rammidi’s contributions to the country’s progress, echoing sentiments expressed by speakers at her funeral service on June 9.

In gratitude, a family spokesperson, Ms Tebelo Mhutsiwa, expressed appreciation to President Masisi for his compassion and support during their time of loss. She acknowledged that his comforting message would inspire the family to persevere. Ms Rammidi is survived by five children.
