Africa-Press – Botswana. The Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs held a solemn memorial service in honor of the late Mr. Josiah Ramphaleng, who served as the Anti-Corruption Unit Coordinator. The ceremony brought together ministry officials, colleagues, and friends to celebrate his life, dedication, and service.

Mr. Ramphaleng joined the Ministry in December and quickly became known for his professionalism and integrity. Those who worked with him described him as funny, kind, humble, and cooperative. His colleagues remembered him as a pleasant individual who brought positivity and calmness to the workplace.

Permanent Secretary Ms. Bridget Poppy John praised Mr. Ramphaleng’s outstanding work ethic and commitment to fairness. She noted that his role was highly sensitive and demanding, yet he carried out his duties with impartiality, even when close friends were involved. She described him as intelligent, disciplined, and deeply committed to the Ministry’s mission.

Ms. John also highlighted that Mr. Ramphaleng served on the Ministerial Performance Improvement Committee, where his insight and balanced judgment earned him respect across all levels of the institution.

Delivering words of comfort, the Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs, Hon. Lesego Chombo, reflected on the pain of loss and the importance of faith during difficult times. “Though death is the deepest of all losses, we should believe that all things work out for our good,” she said.

She reminded attendees that while we cannot control trouble or the emotions it brings, we can choose how we respond. Minister Chombo encouraged everyone to find strength in faith and to hold on to hope despite sorrow.

Drawing from the Bible, she shared comforting verses from Isaiah 43:2, Philippians 4:8, and Hebrews 13:5-6, urging the congregation to find peace and courage through scripture.

The memorial service honored not only Mr. Ramphaleng’s professional contributions but also his humanity and moral strength. His colleagues described him as a man who worked with purpose, upheld integrity, and inspired others through his conduct.

Mr. Ramphaleng leaves behind a legacy of honesty, dedication, and compassion. His memory will continue to inspire the Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs to uphold the same values he lived by in service to the nation.
