Africa-Press – Botswana. The National Planning Commission (NPC) has officially launched preparations for the National Development Plan 12 (NDP 12), with nationwide stakeholder consultations set to begin on April 8.
The initiative, unveiled by Minister for State President, Mr Moeti Mohwasa, during a media briefing in Gaborone today, will start in Gaborone and later extends to other districts as part of efforts to create an inclusive, transformative development strategy.
Minister Mohwasa emphasised government’s commitment to engaging with the public, private sector, civil society and youth to ensure that their aspirations shape the final plan.
NDP 12, he said was expected to be adopted by Parliament in October and come into effect by November 1, aiming to drive inclusive growth and deliver on the ruling party’s targets of a 10 per cent economic growth rate and creation of 500 000 jobs by 2029.
