Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana Democratic Party newly elected councillor for Chobe Enclave Central Mooketsi Jani has passed away.
The deceased’s uncle, Mr Daniel Isaac confirmed Jani’s death in an interview on November 3 that he died at Letsholathebe Referral Hospital in Maun, where he had been admitted.
Jani, had been admitted at Kasane Primary Hospital, before being transferred to Letsholathebe Hospital.
He said Jani, who won a council seat during the recent general elections, did not get the opportunity to celebrate his victory.
Jani, got 391 votes defeating Botswana Congress Party’s Sefela Gasitime with 74 votes and Botswana Patriotic Party’s Francis Maome with 37 votes.
Jani hails from Kachikau and was born in 1986.
