Mr Ramolala said his niece Katlego met her untimely demise when she had come to visit her grandmother in the village after writing her examinations.

St. Monica Catholic Church where the Ramolala worshiped, also came to bid farewell to the late departed brethren. According to the church representative, Mr Motlhokwa Lekoba, Ms Ramolala’s passing was a significant loss to the church and community as she played a vital role in church activities, saying she was committed and instrumental in building the church premises in Kgomokasitwa. In the same manner many who had come to mourn expressed their shock and dismay over the incident. One mourner, Mr Kebonyethebe Wadikgobo, shared his sadness, stating that the tragic events were deeply upsetting.

“The perpetrator should have at least left their bodies intact instead of setting them on fire,” Mr Wadikgobo said.

Mr Wadikgobo added that he had come to know Ms Ramolala’s household through her late husband whom they were work colleagues at the South African mines back then.
