Africa-Press – Botswana. The Tati Solar power project is set to provide 600 job opportunities for local residents. The initiative is part of Botswana’s efforts to expand its renewable energy capacity and stimulate local employment.

Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) Acting CEO, Tapiwa Masie, confirmed that upon completion, the Tati Solar power plant will generate 100 megawatts. The energy produced will be sold to the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) to help address current power deficits in the SADC region.

Masie highlighted SEZA’s role in diversifying Botswana’s economy and strengthening its position in the regional energy market. He emphasized that initiatives like the Tati Solar project enhance Botswana’s competitiveness and support sustainable economic growth.

The project is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy by creating jobs, supporting skills development, and attracting investment in the renewable energy sector.

SEZA continues to focus on strategic projects that increase Botswana’s energy output, promote regional trade, and ensure long-term sustainability. The Tati Solar power plant represents a major step in meeting both national and regional energy demands while fostering economic development.
