Minister says Multinational Center for Maritime Coordination in Zone G could start operating later this year

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of State and National Defense, Janine Lélis, said this Wednesday that the Government is making “every effort” to ensure that the Multinational Center for Maritime Coordination in Zona G be operational later this year.

The official who was speaking to the press, this morning, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Superior Council of Commands Extended to Directors of Services and Equivalents 2023 (RCSC 23), which takes place in Praia, explained that the structure is identified and awaits only the provision of equipment.

According to the minister, the process is in the tendering phase and as soon as it is concluded, training will be carried out for the elements that will be assigned to this structure.

“They will be outstanding elements of the military that we have for a first phase, and hope that later vacancies and opportunities will be embraced for new entries to the base. So that those who can stay and remain in the center are also people with greater experience”, he pointed out.
