Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Mon na Roda group has qualified for the Wheelchair Dance World Championship, thanks to their participation in the International Wheelchair Dance Championship 2023 in the Netherlands, where they won silver and bronze medals.
According to information shared by the Institute of Sport and Youth (IDJ), at this international event, the duo of Miriam Medina and Flávio Gomes won the bronze medal in the Freestyle Combi Class.
Flávio Gomes also competed in the Freestyle Single Men category, winning the silver medal, in which another Cape Verdean competitor, Nilson Pires, won the bronze medal.
“With these results, Cape Verde, the only African country to participate in the championship since 2016, is classified for the world championship,” says IDJ, congratulating Mon na Roda for their achievements.
