Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Superior Council for the Judiciary (CSMJ), Bernardino Delgado, swore in, this Friday, four new non-judge members, elected by the National Assembly.
Ana Isabel Moreno Semedo, António Pedro Tavares Silva, Orlanda Maria Duarte Santos Ferreira, and Silvino Amador are the new members, elected by the National Assembly.
Thus, the CSMJ is now configured with a President, Bernardino Delgado, who is in his second term, by the vowels judges Zaida Gisela Fonseca Lima Luz, Counselor Judge of the Supreme Court of Justice, Ary Allison Spencer Santos, Judge of 1st Class, from the Judiciary, Samyra Oliveira Gomes dos Anjos, Judge Judge, from the Judiciary, and Paulo Santos Aires, 3rd Class Judge, from the Judiciary, all elected by secret ballot in the Assembly of Judges on November 14, 2022.
Under the terms of article 223 of the Constitution of the Republic of Cape Verde, recalls the CSMJ, it is made up of 9 members, one being a judge appointed by the President of the Republic, four citizens of recognized probity and merit, who are neither magistrates nor lawyers, elected by the National Assembly and four judicial magistrates elected by their peers.
