Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Barceló Hotel Group announced this Tuesday, the 19th, that it has already activated a solidarity initiative in coordination with the Cape Verde Red Cross and the logistics company Boluda, aiming to support the affected population on the island of São Vicente.
In a statement, the Barceló Hotel Group emphasized that all of the group’s hotels in Cape Verde are involved in this joint effort to collect and send essential materials requested by the Red Cross, reinforcing the group’s commitment to local communities and their integration into the country’s social fabric.
“In particular, the Barceló Praia Cape Verde hotel, located in Praia, donated 40 kg of cleaning and hygiene materials, which will be sent to São Vicente in the coming days, in conjunction with the Red Cross,” it revealed.
Furthermore, the same source reports that the hotel has also been established as an official collection point for all individuals wishing to contribute with donations of goods.
“The Barceló Hotel Group is part of Cape Verde, and we want to be close to its people, not only in good times, but also when they need it most,” he emphasized.
During the delivery of the materials to the Red Cross, Javier Senís, General Manager of the Barceló Praia Cape Verde, stated that this action represents a gesture of solidarity and collective commitment between his team and Cape Verdean society.
He also stated that the entire hotel team is actively participating in this campaign, offering logistical support and contributing individual donations.
“This action is part of the Barceló Hotel Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy, which aims to contribute positively and responsibly to the sustainable development of the communities where it operates,” he added.
