AAC Ensures Strict Compliance in TACV Aircraft Certification

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Civil Aviation Agency (AAC) assured this Friday that all TACV aircraft registration, certification, and operation processes fully comply with national and international regulations.

In a statement, the agency responded to recent statements by the National Union of Civil Aviation Pilots (SNPAC), which warned of “serious risks” to operational safety and accused TACV management of technical and labor violations.

According to the AAC, the airline submitted registration and certification applications for two ATR72-212A aircraft in February and June 2025, processes carried out “under national regulations.”

Both aircraft already had registration reservations, and D4-CCM was certified in July and completed the transfer flight to Cape Verde on September 5th.

D4-CCN is still in the certification process and will only be allowed to operate after TACV verifies full compliance with the technical requirements.

The regulator emphasizes that the entire procedure is conducted by qualified technicians, in coordination with the airline’s technical team, and that any commercial operation depends on the modification of TACV’s Operations Specification, currently under review.

The AAC reaffirms that it “performs its oversight mission independently and responsibly,” in accordance with the standards and practices recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

In the statement, the entity also emphasizes that operational safety is a shared responsibility and that all professionals with licenses issued by the AAC must ensure that they only perform their duties when they meet the required competency and aptitude requirements.

Recognizing the “delicate moment” the sector is going through in ensuring inter-island connectivity, the AAC calls for “consideration and positive participation” from all stakeholders to overcome the current challenges.
