Africa-Press – Cape verde. In August 2025, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded an average twelve-month change of 2.1%, a 0.2 percentage point increase compared to the previous month, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) today.
Data from the IBGE indicate that the CPI recorded a monthly change of 0.2%, -0.7 percentage points lower than the previous month.
The cumulative CPI change rate was 2.4%, 1.4 percentage points higher than the same month of the previous year.
The total annual change rate in August 2025 was 2.8%, a 0.1 percentage point increase compared to the previous month.
In the period under analysis, the underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding energy and fresh food) showed an annual variation of 3.2%, a value 0.1 p.p. higher than that recorded in July 2025.
