Africa-Press – Cape verde. A 22-year-old man, a resident of Abufadouro, in the city of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, suffered a workplace accident on Thursday, the 26th, and was urgently transferred to São Vicente due to the severity of his injuries.
The information was given to Inforpress by the Porto Novo Volunteer Fire Department, which rescued the young man, named Alexandre Rodrigues, who was working on a construction site in Alto Miradouro, in this city.
A source from the Porto Novo Health Delegation confirmed to Inforpress that the injured young man was transferred to the Baptista de Sousa Hospital due to the severity of his injuries, especially to his head, resulting from a fall from the first floor of the building.
Residents of Porto Novo have been warning about the need for greater oversight of construction projects by the competent authorities, given the occurrence of several workplace accidents.
