Africa-Press – Cape verde. Mosteiros City Council recently handed over plots of land to 18 young people from the Relvas area for the construction of their own housing within the scope of the municipality’s housing program called “Nha Kaza Nha Grandeza”, created in 2021.
In the donation contracts, the 18 young people covered, with an average age of 30 years, are prohibited from selling or donating the lots to third parties. Beneficiaries also have the obligation to start construction works on the houses within a maximum of six months after the date of signature of the contract, otherwise these lands will revert to the municipality.
“Nha Kaza Nha Grandeza” Program
Created in 2021, the housing program of the Municipality of Mosteiros “Nha Kaza Nha Grandeza” aims to combat the housing deficit in the county, based on three axes, namely, “Construction”, “Rehabilitation” and “Incentive to Construction”.
The “Construction Incentive” takes place through the granting of support in construction materials for emergency interventions, the granting of plots of land and administrative support (exemptions, co-financing of architectural projects, among others).
