Online Business Platform Boosts Digital Public Services

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Online Business Platform (PEO) marks a new step in the modernization of public services in Cape Verde. This position was expressed today in Mindelo, during the platform’s launch ceremony, by João Lopes da Silva, Registrar of Land, Commercial and Automobile Registries of São Vicente.

The initiative aims to simplify the relationship between businesses and public administration, focusing on digitalization and the integration of essential services into the life cycle of commercial companies.

“This is a significant moment, marking another step in the modernization process of public services in Cape Verde. Over the past 25 years, the General Directorate of Registry and Notary Services has played a central role in administrative modernization and the progressive digitalization of public services. In this process, significant milestones have been achieved that have profoundly transformed the relationship between the State, citizens, and businesses,” he assures.

João Lopes da Silva indicates that the new platform emerges as an integrated digital solution, allowing for the online completion of various procedures related to business activity.

“The launch of this platform is thus part of the path that Cape Verde has been building over the last few decades, through various initiatives aimed at simplifying the lives of citizens and businesses and transforming the way the State provides its services, making them increasingly simpler, faster and more accessible. In this context, the Online Business Platform represents a new stage in the trajectory of the country’s digital transformation,” he emphasizes.

The project is the result of collaboration between various public and private entities linked to justice, the modernization of the State and the national technology sector.

Paulo Martins, an engineer at Prime Solutions, responsible for the development of the platform, states that the tool prioritizes the simplification, integration and efficiency of processes essential to the development of business activity.

“It is also important to highlight that the platform is based on a logic of interoperability between public systems, allowing the integration of different state services and providing the user with a simpler, more fluid and more efficient experience (…). At the same time, it creates conditions so that properly structured government data and services can, in the future, support the development of new digital solutions and B2B services, contributing to boosting the country’s economic and technological ecosystem,” he explains.

The platform is available, in this initial phase, in beta mode, which will allow its use by a pilot group of users to test and improve its functionalities.
