Africa-Press – Cape verde. The new Director General of Economic Cooperation and Development, Carlos Fernandes Semedo, will be sworn in this morning, at 11 am, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration.

Carlos Fernandes Semedo was the first ambassador of Cape Verde residing in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, a mission that ended recently, as informed by the Government.

He holds a master’s degree in International Economic Relations, and began his diplomatic career in 1997.

He was also, according to the same source, number two at the Embassy of Cape Verde in Washington, DC between 2002 and 2008, Director General of Global Affairs between 2010 and 20015 and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Cape Verde in Côte d’Ivoire from 1999 to 2000.

The inauguration ceremony will be chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Rui Figueiredo Soares.
