Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Association of Disadvantaged Children (Acrides) closed, this Saturday, another training action, given to 14 young people from the Moroccan neighborhood, in Achada Grande Trás, through the project “Inclusive Cultural Tourism and Diversity” financed by Procultura.
The objective of this training, according to the coordinator of the project, Liana Moreira, told Inforpress, is to promote culture, raising it to other levels, namely with regard to local tourism, in their own neighborhoods.
The official informed that this second phase of training included 14 young people, and in the first 26 young people from the same locality benefited.
“With this training, we intend to work within the community, in the sense of promoting more cultural activities and promoting youth employment, because we know that we are in a complicated situation”, he said.
For his part, the person in charge of the Association for the Development of Morocco (ADM), José Carlos Gonçalves, thanked the initiative of Acrides and Procultutra for choosing a community that lacks projects of this kind.
“We hope that our trainees will have the opportunity to make good use of this training, so that the acquired knowledge does not stay in the drawers”, he stressed.
He took the opportunity to appeal for the support of more partners to help this neighbourhood, because, he added, “if we join hands we will have more strength and our goals will get closer to where we want to get, and we will take our Cape Verde more and more to up”.
The vice-president of the Association of ex-prisoners (Hoturumu), Edmilson Silva, as a partner in this initiative, classified this training action as excellent, that is, something that in his view should be carried out more often, as a way of supporting many young people. that in the respective neighborhoods of the capital need this type of project.
“In Achada Grande Trás, young people are in need of more partnerships, more projects, because we have young people who enter crime to occupy their time, for lack of opportunities”, he said, adding that crime is only increasing because poverty is also increasing.
According to this official, the Hoturumu Association has a project that has the support of the Praia City Council, which it plans to start soon, and which will focus mainly on training ex-prisoners, to integrate them into society and train them for the market. of work.

In turn, the young trainee Vanderlita Rosa Moreno reinforced the importance of this training promoted within this neighborhood, stating that it will bring new opportunities for the knowledge acquired.
“Now trained we feel self-confidence, because with this training we can seize any opportunity that appears in the area of cultural, inclusive and diversity tourism, so we thank the promoters for this free training, taking into account that if it were to pay a lot of us, we would not we would have the financial conditions to bear the costs”, he explained.
Procultura is an action of the PALOP-TL and EU Program, financed by the European Union, co-financed and managed by Camões, IP, with the co-financing of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Its objective is to promote employment in income-generating activities in the cultural sector in the PALOP and East Timor.
