Activity report 2015 – 2023 makes a positive assessment of the performance of the Constitutional Court

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The year 2023 saw the highest number of cases received by the Constitutional Court since its creation and the period in which the body performed best, according to the Activity Report for the year 2015 to 2023.

According to a statement made public this Thursday, the document provides a positive assessment of the Constitutional Court’s performance, as it issued decisions that exceeded the sum of those issued in the previous three years, having recorded a 23 percent (%) reduction in the number of pending cases compared to the year 2022.

According to the Constitutional Court, the report includes, among other data, quantitative information that allows the public to easily access annual procedural statistics, with emphasis on the year 2023.

“The Constitutional Court considered it important to make known the main activities carried out since October 2015, the date on which it began to exercise its jurisdictional functions”, reads the statement.

Divided into four parts, the document addresses the functioning of the Court, with information on its composition, budgets, resources, holding of hearings and use of information technologies, statistical data on procedural movement, representation activities of the Court, and finally, it takes stock of the activities, highlighting the challenges, commitments and recommendations for the future.
