The Association for the Defense of the Environment and Development (ADAD), in partnership with the Armed Forces, associations and environmental NGOs, promoted, this Wednesday, 14, a garbage collection campaign in the neighborhoods of Achada São Filipe, Safende and Vila Nova, in Praia City.
In addition to these campaigns, to mark the World Cleaning Day, created four years ago, the organization will also promote, on Saturday, a set of activities, starting at 8:30 am, in Achada Grande Frente.
As per the provisional program shared with the media, activities begin at 8:30 am, with a selective plastics campaign.
Central Act
The central act of the activities, according to the same source, should be co-chaired by the first lady, Débora Carvalho and the mayor of Praia, Francisco Carvalho.
At 9:30 am, an underwater cleaning will take place in Porto da Praia, followed, at 10:30 am, by the start of delivery of materials to be recycled at the environmental organization Econatura, in San Francisco.
Four years ago, September 18th was chosen to represent the World Cleanup Day, in which volunteers from all over the world take to the streets to do collective efforts in search of cleaner streets and beaches.
