Adelino Moreira accuses National Assembly of persecution for issuing false accusations about him

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The National Assembly official, Adelino Moreira, who today suspended a seven-day hunger strike, accused the National Assembly of “persecution” for issuing “false accusations” about him.

Adelino Moreira reacted like this after having access to the communiqué in which the National Assembly states that Adelino Moreira was away from the workplace for five years, from 2018 to 2023, following an order from the former president of the National Assembly followed by a complaint filed by the then secretary-general to the National Police due to serious acts of theft of fire-fighting equipment and electrical materials, rebellious behavior, insubordination and threats that endangered the life and physical integrity of employees and all those that circulated daily in the parliamentary house.

As he explained, during the years he was working in that space, he “never” committed these acts, referred to in the statement, justifying that if he had done so, he would have been subject to disciplinary proceedings.

He also said that despite having said that the employees of this institution do not want to see him around, this does not correspond to the truth because, according to him, every day he has been receiving a high number of employees to give him solidarity and, even, some of them slept with him in the space where he is until dawn.
