Africa-Press – Cape verde. Praia April 1 (Inforpress)- Air transport specialist Zilka Paiva acknowledged on Thursday, in Praia, the importance of doing a statistical study in Cabo Verde to know the number of women in the aviation sector and for decision making.
Zilka Paiva made these statements to Inforpress, as part of the talk show entitled “Diversity and Inclusion of Women in Aviation Sector in Cabo Verde”, whose object is, according to the promoter of the event, the actors, professionals and protagonists of the aviation sector share their experiences to a wider audience.
The moment also serves to share her experience of participating in the initiative promoted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that took place in October 2021, where a “Diversity and Inclusion” award was created, which, on the one hand, aims to promote and encourage companies that have gender integration and diversity in their policies and, on the other, promote female figures and leaders who embrace this cause.
“So the idea is to share my experience and show that any woman who is in the lead within an aviation company, in various positions, which can be from pilot, mechanic, administrative areas, can effectively develop this action,” she explained.
