Algarve Boxe Cup 22: Nancy Moreira claims first place – “I lost unfairly”

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean international boxer, Nancy Moreira, claims first place in the Algarve Boxe Cup 22, in her category, in Portugal. The athlete won second place, but believes that she deserved the first place on the podium.

On social media, the boxer showed her indignation against the competition and says she lost unfairly.

“Everyone who knows me knows that I always valued my victories and defeats. I won against Holland, I took a minus point, I’m fighting Norway today, I took a minus point. I’ve already seen the match five times and, clearly, I won and I’m not the only one with that opinion. I lost unfairly”, wrote the athlete on her Facebook social network.

“Education first”

Nancy says she only accepted the runner-up medal because her education “comes first”, but she refused to keep the medal around her neck.

The athlete writes that she ends the year with a “bitter taste”, but that she will continue to work towards her “true objective”.

This weekend Nancy was considered one of the 100 most influential black personalities in Lusophone Africa, by Bantumen magazine, among several other Cape Verdeans.
