Africa-Press – Cape verde. Denzel Ramos is only 12 years old and is already considered a volleyball player. The teenager is part of the senior men’s volleyball team “Inter”, where this year he helped to win the Super Cup. This young man’s talent impresses sports lovers and makes Denzel dream of a professional career.
Son of sports parents, from a very early age Denzel Ramos, 12, found sport at home. His mother is a volleyball player and his father is a former volleyball player and current coach. Inspirations that made him pick up the ball when he was still a baby, becoming a passion that he intends to carry with him for life.
Recently, he has stood out for being part of the senior men’s volleyball team “Inter”, where he is the youngest athlete to participate in the senior men’s competitions. Denzel helped “Inter”, from the South Santiago region, to win the Super Cup this year, playing as a libero.
“Senior Player”
Despite playing with older opponents, and consequently more experienced, Denzel says he does not experience difficulties on the field, as he has mastered many volleyball techniques. As he told A NAÇÃO, he wants to continue to learn, train and compete because, as he says, he intends to pursue a career in sports and, in the future, play in international clubs.
For the father, Nelo Ramos, who is also his coach at “Inter”, he is proud to have noticed his son’s evolution in volleyball and highlights Denzel’s “fast learning”, which makes the family support him in the decision to follow the parents’ career.
“He is always gaining maturity. He’s a quick learner and Denzel’s evolution is a source of pride”, says his father proudly.
“As a coach there is the care I take because he plays with older players. He started playing a whole match now in the Super Cup final,” he explains.
Denzel, who this year is going to the 8th grade, takes the opportunity to appeal to young teenagers of his age to practice sports, regardless of what it is because, as he says, “there are always benefits”.
