Africa-Press – Cape verde. Banco de Cabo Verde (BCV) received 287 complaints from consumers of banking products and services in 2022, 40 less than the previous year, and returned 11,273,277 escudos to financial institutions, “the highest amount ever.”
According to the behavioral supervision report, which Inforpress had access to, of the 287 complaints, 276 were from the banking sector and 11 from the insurance sector, corresponding to an average of 24 complaints received monthly.
“Considering the data of the last three years, there was a decrease in relation to the number of complaints received in the year 2022, which contradicts the growth trend recorded in the last three years,” the document said
The document stresses that over the past five years, through the BCV, financial institutions authorized to operate in the Cape Verdean financial system have reimbursed financial consumers a total of 64,338,768.87 escudos.
