Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Africa Show team was officially crowned regional football champion of Boa Vista this Sunday, the 22nd, for the 2025/26 season, after defeating Sporting 1-0, finishing the competition undefeated and with a record 40 points.

In the closing game of the 14th and final round, played at the Arsénio Ramos Stadium, the only goal by captain Gilvan secured the three points for the Rabil team, now champions, who finished the championship with a record of 13 wins and only one draw.

In a press interview after the match, Africa Show’s coach, Marley Monteiro, stated that the title is the result of rigorous planning, which led to achieving the goal set by the presidency of reaching the final undefeated.

“I am very happy that we have reached this moment. We made history with the first Africa Show championship, and in the second we also made history by reaching 40 points, something unprecedented on the island,” said the coach, visibly emotional as he dedicated the victory to the memory of his mother and his late friend Saulo, from Académica da Boa Vista.

Regarding the future, Marley Monteiro highlighted that the team is already focused on their debut in the State Championship, arguing that, despite it being their first time in the country’s biggest club competition, several players on the roster have already participated and the team has the potential to do a good job.

Captain Gilvan, elected “man of the match,” considered the achievement “deserved” and dedicated the goal and the triumph to the club’s staff and fans.

The trophy presentation ceremony, which was attended by the president of the Boa Vista Regional Football Association (ARFBV), Carlos Lima, and Mayor Cláudio Mendonça, also awarded the individual highlights of the season.

Dá, from África Show, was awarded “Best Player of the Championship,” while Guma from Sporting won the “Top Scorer” trophy, Pol from Africa Show was considered “Best Goalkeeper,” and Enio from Desportivo won the “Best Goal” trophy.

The “Young Revelation” trophy was given to Edú, from Sanjoanense, and Académica received the “Fair Play Team” award.

In the youth categories, Stiven from Africa Show was the top scorer and Euclides from Sporting the best goalkeeper in the Under-17 category.

In the final standings, Sal Rei finished in second place with 27 points, followed by Juventude with 24 and Académica with 22 points.
