Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean international boxer David Pina won this Sunday the gold medal in the Portuguese Cup, for the Privilegio Boxing Club team.
In total, the Cape Verdean international boxer’s club, Privilégio Boxing Club, was the best elite men’s team in the tournament, with two gold medals, three silver and one bronze.
The Olympic athlete, born in Santa Cruz, has stood out in boxing in Portugal, having already won several tournaments in the country.
Last May, Pina had added another achievement to her resume, in the Rounds of Boxing 2022 tournament, with gold in the 54 kg category.
The boxer, who has already represented Cape Verdean boxing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, has been an Olympic scholarship holder since April 11, so he benefited from a scholarship that allows him to improve training conditions, participate in international competitions, and prepare in the best possible way to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
