Africa-Press – Cape verde. A delegation made up of four artisans and a designer are representing Cape Verde at the 35th International Handicraft Fair held in Dheli, India, from March 19 and runs until April 4.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, it is an extensive and diverse exhibition stage of regional and international crafts traditions, which celebrates Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage.

The event brings together more than 20 countries from Africa and Asia to showcase their handicrafts, culture and traditions, and Albertino Silva (master craftsman) and Stephanie Silva (designer), both from São Vicente and, also, Da Graça, Manique Moreno and Mizé Varela (artisans), from Santiago Island, will participate.

“The fair celebrates the unique diversity of Indian traditions and culture in an environment and features some of India’s finest woven on looms operated solely by hand and handicrafts, gastronomy and cultural performances,” the note adds.
