The president of the Teachers’ Union of Santiago (Siprofis), Abraão Borges, represented Cabo Verde at the seminar and the 14th Congress of the National Federation of Teachers of Portugal (Fenprof) in Porto and Viseu (Portugal), where he defended the valorization of preschool.
“Education can’t wait! Combating inequalities, valuing the profession” is the theme of this forum which brings together international guests”, and the representative of Cabo Verde warned of the value of preschool, as an ideal foundation for the future of education. He praised the important role of teachers during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that “many other sectors of education are at risk.”
Because it is an organization that have a great relationship with FECAP/SIPROFIS, Abraão Borges, who began this visit with his participation in the “National Seminar in the city of Viseu, is taking advantage of the moment “to strengthen the ties of cooperation with teachers’ unions”.
FECAP/SIPROFIS aims to strengthen the partnership with teachers’ unions in the North – SPN, SPZN, with CNTE – National Confederation of Education of Brazil, the Unions from Benguela, Huambo of SINPROF-Angola, with SINPRESTEP from Sao Tome and Principe, Guinea Bissau and FNE -Portugal as well as teachers’ unions from almost all continents.
