Africa-Press – Cape verde. The city of Praia will host, between the 17th and 18th of June, the Portugal Tasting initiative, which aims to promote Portuguese products among the major players in West Africa.

The initiative is from AGAVI – Association for the Promotion of Gastronomy, Wines, Regional Products and Biodiversity, from Portugal, which, for two days, 17 and 18 June, will make known the products of that Portuguese country, in one of the hotels in the capital .

This action is organized within the scope of Portugal Tasting, an AGAVI project whose mission is to contribute to boosting the Portuguese agri-food sector, taking Portuguese companies in the sector to various international markets through participation in niche fairs, parallel events, etc.

Reach West African markets

The initiative in the city of Praia also aims to promote Portuguese products among major players in West Africa. In addition to other initiatives, there will be a display and tasting of products from Portuguese companies.

It should be recalled that Portugal is one of Cape Verde’s main trading partners, the latter being the largest importer of Cape Verdean goods and services.

In 2020, bilateral trade between the two countries reached around 380 million euros in exports of goods and services.
