The MCC, an independent US government agency, announced on Wednesday that Cape Verde has been selected as eligible for a third “compact” of public development aid aimed at regional economic integration, with values ​​to be defined.

The organization stressed that the decision is a “recognition of clear commitment” of the country with democratic governance and its significant development and poverty reduction challenges.

The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, reacted “with joy”, assuming a “commitment to development” and the Cape Verdean President, José Maria Neves, classified the announcement as a “great victory”.
