CMP launches plan for inspection and seizure of animals on public roads

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Praia City Council (CMP) begins this Friday, March 8th, a plan to monitor and seize animals found loose on the city’s public roads, extending until December 31st.

According to a statement from the municipality, through the Municipal Guard Inspection Service, the initiative is motivated by concern for public health and citizen safety.

“The wandering of animals on public roads without being harnessed or driven by people is a constant violation of the Code of Behavior of the Municipality of Praia, which also provides for the seizure of animals and the imposition of fines for offenders”, wrote the CMP.

In an appeal for collaboration from livestock breeders or animal owners, the City Council urges them to keep their animals properly contained in corrals or appropriate locations.
