Africa-Press – Cape verde. The conference on early intervention brought together specialists from the fields of healthcare, social work, education, families, parents, and guardians to discuss speech therapy in a broader sense.
Promoted by Aldeias SOS Cabo Verde in partnership with Speechcare Speech Therapists, the University of Cabo Verde, and financed by Portuguese Cooperation: Camões Institute, as part of the cooperation agreement signed in 2021 between the Portuguese association and Aldeia SOS Cabo Verde, aiming to sponsor 18 children with Special Educational Needs hosted by the Cape Verdean institution.
According to the National Director of Aldeias Infantis SOS Cabo Verde, Dionísio Pereira, the idea is to promote a deeper debate on speech therapy, given that it is a subject in which the country does not have qualified and available specialists for treatment.
On the other hand, the meeting also aims to mobilize more synergies and bring in other entities that have not yet been part of this dynamic.
