CV Interilhas Launches Contingency Plan Today to Guarantee Maritime Connections in Sotavento

Africa-Press – Cape verde. CV Interilhas begins today the implementation of a contingency plan to ensure maritime connections between the islands of Maio, Fogo and Brava, in view of the suspension of operations of the ship Liberdadi, which is out of service.

The plan involves the partial allocation of the ship Dona Tututa to Linha Sotavento, allowing trips to resume from today.

The first connection will be between Santiago and Maio, with departure scheduled for 14:00, followed by the return from Maio to Santiago at 17:00.

Also on the same day, a trip from Santiago to Fogo is scheduled at 9:00 pm.

On Friday, the 25th, the ship will make the connection between Fogo and Brava, at 04:00, returning from Brava to Fogo, at 06:00.

Afterwards, it will continue from Fogo to São Vicente, at 08:00.

CV Interilhas warned that the integration of the Dona Tututa ship into the Sotavento Line will imply adjustments to the schedule of the Redonda Line, which connects the islands of São Vicente, São Nicolau, Sal, Boavista and Santiago.

In a statement, the company reaffirmed its commitment to the continuity of public service, safety and operational efficiency, even in contexts of “high technical complexity”.
