Africa-Press – Cape verde. The 2024 edition of the Sprint Praia, promoted by the Regional Cycling Association of Santiago Sul (ARCSS), will bring together 40 of the best Cape Verdean cyclists this Saturday and Sunday, in a “high-level competition” with “safety and organization”.
Speaking to Inforpress, the president of the association, Manuel Gomes, stated that 40 athletes will participate in this year’s edition, which will take place over the weekend in the city of Praia.
According to the same source, “everything is organized”, including logistics, security and essential partnerships for the event.
“We are ready for the competition, all the logistics are organized, from security to transportation, to ensure that athletes and the public experience an excellent event,” highlighted Manuel Gomes.
The competition will be held in several categories, including elite and youth, with prizes ranging from 4 thousand to 20 thousand escudos, depending on the final classification.
Security will be provided by the National Police, firefighters, the Red Cross and support vehicles along the route, with a view to ensuring a “well-structured” race.
With the support of partners such as BAI, CV Inter-Ilhas, IDJ, Unitel T+ and Hotel Atlântico, Sprint Praia 2024, according to the organization, promises to be “a milestone” in Cape Verdean cycling.
