ECOWAS holds symposium to sensitize women to greater participation in politics

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The political and economic capital of Sierra Leone, Freetown, hosts, since this Friday, the Symposium of the Association of Women Parliamentarians of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOFEPA), promoted with the aim of raising awareness among women in the sub-region for greater participation in politics. This event counts on the participation of Cape Verdean deputies Isa Costa and Rosa Rocha.

This ECOFEPA symposium takes place on the theme “An awareness campaign on the proportional representation of women in politics, increasing political partnership between men and women.”

In this context, a large group of government institutions and civil society are reflecting and outlining strategies on how to increase the voice of women in the political space of the countries of the community, namely in Sierra Leone, whose general elections will take place in June.
