Africa-Press – Cape verde. Tiago Vasconcelos dos Santos presents, on the 16th, Friday, in Praia, his first book entitled “Efficiency of the Banking Sector and its determinants: the case of Cape Verde”.
After being launched at the beginning of the month in Portugal, the book is now presented in Cape Verde.
The presentation is in charge of the economist José Luís Mascarenhas, at 17:30, at the National Library, beach, on Friday, 16th.
This is the first work by Tiago Vasconcelos dos Santos, one of the staff of Banco Comercial Atlântico (BCA) and has the seal of approval of the Luso-Brazilian publisher Lisbon International Press, of Grupo Editorial Atlântico.
Result of an academic work
According to a press release, the book is the result of an academic work carried out by this bank employee as part of the Masters in Business Management at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Its sample includes data from banks’ annual reports and accounts for the period 2007 – 2020 and has questions about the efficiency of the Cape Verdean banking sector, the determinants of the efficiency of commercial banks in the country, among other key issues that arise today. the daily lives of policy makers, supervisors, managers and bank employees.

“This work seeks to be an instrument of information and training on efficiency. It is a modest and daring contribution to the process of sustained development of banks and the Cape Verdean banking sector”, describes the note.
“Efficiency of the Banking Sector and its determinants: the case of Cape Verde” will be launched on the 9th of December, in Portugal.

Tiago Vasconcelos dos Santos, author of this work, holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management from the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technology in Lisbon, a postgraduate degree in Banking Management and a degree in Business Management.
Professionally, he is a banker, one of the staff of Banco Comercial Atlântico (BCA) with 14 years of experience, having worked in the commercial and internal control areas.
He has also been linked to the Hospitality and Tourism sector, as well as the written press, as a financial manager.
Tiago Vasconcelos dos Santos is a university professor and professional trainer in the areas of Economics, Management and Banking Management, as well as a member of the Ethics Committee of the Cabo Verdean Football Federation (FCF).
In literature, “Efficiency of the Banking Sector and its determinants: the case of Cape Verde” is his first book, despite having worked as a co-author, along with his brothers, on the book “Tiago, uma vida”, in honor of to his late father, Tiago Pedro Amadeu Furtado dos Santos.
