Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government recalled today that customs legislation allows for the entry into the country of goods destined for victims of natural disasters without paying duties. This information was shared following the outpouring of national and diaspora solidarity to support São Vicente after the rains on the 11th.
According to customs legislation, goods can be shipped through duly authorized government agencies, non-governmental organizations, charities, and relief groups.
Donations intended for free delivery to victims, goods used in emergency missions, and materials for reconstruction in affected areas are exempt from customs duties and barriers.
