Africa-Press – Cape verde. The military institution revealed this Monday that the Armed Forces (FA) of Cape Verde intend to implement a long-term strategic directive in order to project the islands with the presence of militaries.
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, António Duarte Monteiro, made the announcement after presenting the document drawn up as part of his first visit to the commands and services of the Armed Forces, in Praia.
The Rear Admiral stressed, however, that in order to meet the objectives set out in this directive, the document will be “socialized” with the Government so that the necessary means for its implementation can be accounted for and budgeted for.
“We know that the acquisition of air and naval assets costs a lot (…), so it is a matter for the Government to define priorities and calculate the budgeted needed to face the threats that we have on a daily basis”, he explained.
