Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, considered Thursday in São Filipe that on the island of Fogo the strength and party pressure are greater than in the other islands of the country.

As for the works inaugurated, it advanced that they are investments of the Government to improve the quality of life of the people where they live investment and resulted from what has been a priority of the Executive since 2016.
According to the same, the Government elected as a priority investment for local development in partnership with the municipalities to change the reality of cities, towns and villages and pointed out some interventions such as restoration of historical, cultural and religious heritage, urban requalification, construction of roads and de-enclevation of localities, rehabilitation of houses, through the funds of Environment and Tourism and the PRRA program.
The head of the Government indicated that the transformation and change recorded in São Filipe began with the requalification of the historic center, asphalt of peripheral roads including the bustage of the road that gives access to the port, drainage system, green spaces, all this, according to him, to make the “city more beautiful, pleasant and with better conditions of mobility of people, vehicles and goods”.
The interventions that took place in São Filipe represent about 400,000 contos de Investimentos, which demonstrates a high priority of government investment, but listed other projects such as the interpretive center of São Filipe, rehabilitation and transformation of morgado house in the museum, tourist village of Campanas de Cima, requalification of the tourist resort of Salinas, whose value quintu multiplied and passed from the 30,000 initial contos to 150 thousand contos.
The requalification of Salinas, added the prime minister, the construction of an asphalted road, requalification of the entire surrounding area and lighting to create new quality tourist centrality are other works listed.
The list of projects announced includes the modernization of the São Filipe airfield, currently underway, construction of a new maritime gare with funding from Enapor and the World Bank to ensure better conditions for passengers.

The prime minister immediately moved to Chã das Caldeiras, where he presided over the inauguration of the solar photovoltaic plant, which represents an investment of 70,000 contos, of which 58,000 contos are the responsibility of the State of Cape Verde and 12,000 contoss of ECREEE/USAID.
The plant has a capacity of 40.7 kWp of solar photovoltaic field and 153.6 kWh of battery storage.
